Welcome to us at the introduction programs! Your duties This position involves teaching in the introduction program (IM) for students who are not eligible for upper secondary school. With us, students pursue vocational introduction, language introduction, or an individualized alternative. All students study core subjects and the programs are tailored to each student's circumstances and needs. At our IM, you'll have the opportunity to engage and motivate students who need extra support to succeed in their education. Work in the introduction program is built on close collaboration between teachers and other school staff. Some of our students have intellectual disabilities (IF) and we are now seeking you to contribute your expertise in this area, where you'll have the opportunity to help develop our approaches. Here you can use your creativity to find new pedagogical paths when traditional methods are not sufficient. Your workplace Anders Ljungstedts Gymnasium (ALG) is a large school with over 1,100 students and 220 employees. Organizationally, the school consists of five principal areas with close collaboration on matters that create synergies in operations. It's easy to get to the school, which is located just a short walk from Linköping's travel center, and there's plenty of parking. Getting here by city bus, bike, car, or commuting from Norrköping/Finspång also works well. The school offers eight national vocational programs, some of which are industry-certified, four introduction programs, five programs within adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education in multiple trades and as adapted education, as well as vocational college education. About you First, we're seeking someone with teacher certification and eligibility to teach Swedish, English, or Swedish as a Second Language in grades 7-9. Secondly, we're seeking someone with completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you're nearing the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It's a merit if you have special education training with a focus on intellectual disabilities. You must have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It's a merit if you've taught grades 7-9 or upper secondary school for at least one school year. It's also a merit if you have experience teaching students in need of special support, in adapted schools, or other experience teaching students with intellectual disabilities (IF). In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you shall organize and conduct work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You're responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you're a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to students and allow them to participate in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning, and you document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society relevant to your professional role.
