As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others in the school to achieve higher goal attainment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To support student learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of different professionals. As a Swedish and English teacher at Folkungaskolan grades 7-9, you teach in several of our grade levels and serve as a mentor in one class. Part of the position also involves working with a colleague to increase student influence through responsibility for the student council. Your workplace Folkungaskolan is a combined primary and secondary school with approximately 1,500 students and about 170 teachers. The school is located in central Linköping within convenient walking distance of the city center. The mix of students from both primary and secondary school makes Folkungaskolan unique, not only in Linköping, but throughout the country. Folkungaskolan's grades 7-9 consist of seven parallel classes with approximately 630 students total, where all students follow a profile or specialization. The school has three different profiles: Dance, choir, and art and design. The school also offers three different specializations: Future-oriented, music production, and home and consumer studies. As a teacher at Folkungaskolan, you collaborate with subject colleagues on planning, instruction, and assessment. The school also has a counselor, psychologist, special educators, and teaching assistants you work with for student success. About you First and foremost, we are looking for you who have teacher certification with authorization to teach Swedish and English in grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for you with completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are near the end of your teacher training for grades 7-9. It is a merit if you are authorized to teach Swedish as a second language in grades 7-9. You must have experience working in curriculum-based schools through practical training or as an employee. It is a merit if you have taught grades 7-9 for at least one school year. In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that according to the curriculum (Lgr22) you can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it.
