Your responsibilities
As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is conducted both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You work from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To support student learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you make use of various professionals' experiences and knowledge.
The introduction program is aimed at students who are not eligible for upper secondary education. These students have a background of problematic schooling in primary school, high absenteeism, and have significant need for support.
The position involves teaching Swedish as a second language in both smaller and larger teaching groups within the individual alternative. The activity is located in a building within short distance from Berzeliusskolan, and you may teach in various settings. The work is based on close collaboration between teachers, student welfare personnel, and activity leaders.
The position is a temporary contract from 2026-08-17 through 2027-06-18
Your workplace
Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. It includes upper secondary grades, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school comprises science and technology programs as well as an introduction program with focus on language introduction and individual alternative. In total, there are approximately 1900 students, of which over 1000 are in the upper secondary school, and approximately 330 employees at the school.

About you
First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a teaching credential with authorization to teach Swedish as a second language in grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9 in Swedish as a second language. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It is meritorious if you have authorization to teach mathematics and English, based on the organization's needs.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through internship or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also meritorious if you have experience with students in need of special support or experience teaching in introduction programs, in special teaching groups, or at resource schools.
In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills, both spoken and written, in the Swedish language. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and conduct your work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and involve them in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that appear in your professional role.
