We are seeking a substitute music teacher for grades 7–9 who wants to combine music instruction with music production. At Folkungaskolan, you will never work alone – you will become a central part of our music department team and plan instruction in close collaboration with a colleague. We welcome your application! Your Responsibilities As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and values-based education based on the curriculum. Approximately 20% of the position consists of instruction in music production, which is a specific specialization that students have chosen to pursue. The work takes place both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You will always work in close cooperation with another teacher – when you teach one class music, your colleague teaches the other parallel class. You will also become a natural and important part of our music department team. As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others in the school to achieve higher learning outcomes and create the best conditions for each student. You work based on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To support student learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of different professionals. This position is a temporary assignment that runs until June 15, 2027. Your Workplace Folkungaskolan is a combined primary and secondary school with approximately 1,500 students and approximately 170 teachers. The school is located in central Linköping within convenient walking distance of the city center. The mix of students from both primary school and secondary school makes Folkungaskolan something unique, not only in Linköping, but throughout the country. Folkungaskolan's grades 7-9 consist of seven parallel classes with approximately 630 students total, where all students have a profile or specialization. The school has three different profiles: Dance Profile, Choir Profile, and Art & Design Profile. The school also has three different specializations: Future Specialization, Music Production Specialization, and Home & Consumer Science Specialization. About You First and foremost, we are looking for you who have teacher certification with the qualifications to teach music in grades 7-9. Second, we are looking for you with completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your training to become a teacher in grades 7-9. It is a merit if you are qualified to teach music production. It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through internship or as an employee. It is a merit if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also a merit if you have experience in grading or documenting student learning during the school year. In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have solid knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and conduct the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in the design of instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it.
