As a landscape architect in Huddinge, you work with people's shared everyday spaces. Parks, playgrounds, squares, and natural environments that are used daily by people in different stages of life. As part of the Landscape Architecture Unit in the Urban Development Department, you will be part of a team that works with public environments throughout the entire urban development process. The unit currently consists of six landscape architects with broad expertise in urban development, planning, design, and implementation. We work closely together, share knowledge, and help each other keep both the big picture and the details alive throughout the entire process. About the Role As a landscape architect in Huddinge Municipality, you work across large parts of the urban development process. With us, you have the opportunity to follow a project from the initial ideas in the detailed planning stage to completed facilities. You take on different roles as a specialist, advisor, client, and project manager depending on project needs and phases. We believe that understanding the bigger picture makes us better landscape architects and creates better public environments. As part of our urban development work, Huddinge also engages in place development, where we develop our public environments through both temporary and longer-term initiatives based on each location's specific needs. You will primarily work with the municipality's urban development and development projects where you are responsible for issues related to public environments. The role involves both driving and monitoring issues related to design, function, and usability, as well as ensuring that the municipality's long-term goals for parks, playgrounds, green structures, and public meeting places are considered in project decisions. You will participate as the municipality's landscape architect in project groups and work closely with urban planners, traffic planners, development engineers, project managers, and other specialist competencies to create sustainable and well-designed living environments together. In the role, you will work with, among other things: Participate in detailed plans and development projects Develop and monitor issues related to parks, playgrounds, green structures, and urban spaces Ensure quality, function, design, and long-term sustainability in the municipality's public environments through different project phases Manage consultants through, for example, investigations, design, and implementation Present matters and present proposals to officials, politicians, and other stakeholders Your Profile We are looking for someone who is educated as a landscape architect and has solid experience working with public environments and urban development. You have experience with detailed planning work and early phases and feel confident independently representing and driving issues within complex urban development and development projects. It is meritorious if you have experience working in a politically governed organization or municipal operations. As a person, you are responsible, curious, and easily switch between strategic reasoning and concrete solutions.
