Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking an experienced landscape architect with excellent design skills and experience leading complex projects in urban environment development.
As a landscape architect, you will design and project manage the development of public spaces in Malmö, from initial ideas to completed urban environments. You will work closely with colleagues at the office, other departments, and external partners to create attractive places where people enjoy spending time.
Your main tasks will be to design and project manage the development of parks, squares, play areas, street spaces, and other public places. You will work on:
driving complex urban development projects in collaboration with engineers and other specialists,
developing sketches, drawings, and documentation in CAD and using other digital tools,
contributing your landscape architecture expertise to mobility and development projects,
leading or participating in surveys and analyses related to, for example, greener urban spaces, climate adaptation, or temporary place development.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is trained as a landscape architect (300 credits) and has at least six years of experience as a landscape architect. You have excellent design skills and experience with strategic planning and development work. You have good knowledge of project design and are experienced in creating drawings and sketches in CAD and using other tools. You also have experience leading project teams.
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for this position.
It is a merit if you have education in project management and BAS-P. Additionally, experience working as a landscape architect within municipal operations is a merit.

About the Workplace
The Landscape and Design Unit plans, develops, complements, and reconstructs streets, parks, squares, and green spaces in the existing city from a holistic perspective on the urban environment and based on the needs of Malmö's residents. The unit consists of two sections with a total of 26 landscape architects, engineers, and tree specialists who work closely together on projects.
The unit is part of the Urban Environment Department, which is responsible for maintaining, developing, and adapting the city for functional and attractive urban life. The department ensures that both existing and new urban areas, whether on public land, residential blocks, or buildings, are managed, utilized, developed, and designed. By combining maintenance, development, and design, we create an urban environment that is sustainable over time and perceived as clean, whole, and safe.
The Property and Street Office owns, develops, and manages the city's land on behalf of the Technical Board and is tasked with enabling good urban life for Malmö's residents and business community.
