The Emergency and Primary Care Operations (VO) area includes the emergency department in Ängelholm as well as evening and weekend clinics in Ängelholm and Helsingborg. Your presence will be required at both locations, and travel between sites is part of the position. Our area focuses on emergency care to help patients with conditions that cannot wait. This may be because the patient requires a higher level of care via the emergency department, or because the patient becomes ill during hours when primary care is not open. We work to deliver equitable care for our residents in Skåne, with our responsibility covering the eastern region. Collaboration with other areas is therefore of great importance. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you combine clinical work with the position of Medical Director (MLA). You are responsible for ensuring that evidence-based knowledge informs needs analysis, operations, and follow-up of the area's activities. You work closely with the Operations Manager and serve as the medical knowledge resource in the management group. You collaborate closely with other medical directors in the area to drive and implement improvements in our units. This position is for someone with broad medical expertise with particular interest in emergency and primary care. Your responsibilities include: Medical Responsibility • Ensure that care delivered is of high quality and follows scientific evidence and best practice. • Hold overall medical responsibility for the content of operations. • Follow up and analyze care outcomes and initiate improvement work. Quality and Patient Safety • Ensure that procedures exist for safe care and that they are followed. • Assess risks, manage deviations, and participate in incident analyses. • Ensure that operations comply with regulatory requirements (for example, IVO, Socialstyrelsen). Guidelines and Medical Processes • Develop and establish medical guidelines and treatment procedures. • Ensure that operations have adequate expertise and resources for the mission. For example, conduct introductions for new physicians and follow-ups after completing clinical training for residents. When needed, maintain dialogue with the study director and supervisors. • Ongoing collaboration with STRAMA. Coordination and Leadership • Provide support to the Operations Manager on medical matters. • Participate in management group meetings and regional MLA meetings. • Serve as the point of contact on medical matters for healthcare providers, authorities, and external partners. Competence and Training • Ensure that staff have the right competence and receive continuing education. • Participate in supervision of resident physicians, clinical specialists, and other healthcare personnel. Regulations and Oversight • Maintain knowledge of and comply with laws, regulations, and policy documents. • Ensure that medical records and documentation meet requirements through ongoing record reviews. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine or emergency care and authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare, together with experience within your specialty. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale and good English language skills in both speech and writing are required for this position. It is advantageous if you have experience working with emergency care issues. It is also advantageous to have experience in management roles and development work, as well as research experience and experience with improvement initiatives. In your professional role, you are accustomed to working independently with the ability to structure approaches and drive processes on your own, while recognizing the value of good collaboration both within and outside your immediate work group. You are responsive and share your knowledge and previous experience.
