About the Job
Traffic medicine assessments affect both individuals' ability to hold a driving license and society's efforts to increase traffic safety. The basis for decisions therefore needs to be medically well-founded, legally secure and consistent. The work places high demands on medical knowledge, analytical ability and the ability to apply medical assessments in a government agency context.
As a physician with us, you work with medical issues that are significant for traffic safety and individuals' ability to operate vehicles safely. The work includes medical assessments based on applicable regulations, analysis of complex cases, advice to the organization and external contacts, as well as participation in developing the agency's work in traffic medicine.

You Will
contribute medical expertise in matters where medical conditions, functional limitations or treatments may affect traffic safety
answer questions from, among others, healthcare personnel about traffic medicine issues
collaborate with lawyers, investigators and other sections at the agency
assist in developing the agency's regulations
participate in various information initiatives
represent the agency in contact with media
if needed, support the rail traffic department in medical matters.
You Must Have
a physician's license with specialist competence in a relevant field
good clinical experience
experience in traffic medicine, insurance medicine, occupational medicine, neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine, general medicine or other relevant fields
experience in analyzing complex medical information
good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing.
It is Advantageous if You Also Have
experience with medical assessments within government administration
experience in evaluating medical knowledge based on research results or having conducted your own research
experience in handling media issues.

More Information
The employment is permanent with placement in Borlänge. Assignment as soon as possible or by agreement. We normally apply a probationary period.
The scope is 50-100% or by agreement.
As an employee with us, you have the opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week. It is the organization's needs and the nature of the work tasks that determine whether and to what extent it is possible.
An employment with us may involve placement in a security classification. A security vetting with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our work tasks in security classification, Swedish citizenship is required.
