The Children and Youth Administration is now seeking highly skilled teachers who want to take the next step in their professional development as senior teachers or lecturers in Karlstad Municipality. Duties As a senior teacher, your primary assignment is teaching. You will teach in the subject(s) for which you hold a teaching certificate, with high quality and work to improve students' academic results. You are expected to lead and develop collegial learning at your school and drive development work related to instruction and the school's quality assurance efforts. The position means that you are a role model in professional ethics and values, and you work closely with the principal and colleagues to develop instruction based on students' and the school's needs. As a senior teacher/lecturer with us, you have the ability to motivate and inspire students in your teaching. You will work to improve students' academic results, analyze instruction, and work with evidence-based teaching methods. You will also contribute to school development by leading and supporting collegial learning through mentorship, classroom observation, and pedagogical discussions. Qualifications Required Basic requirements according to regulations to become a senior teacher or lecturer are: Teacher certification (for lecturers, a master's degree is required) At least four years of work experience as a certified teacher Documented ability to improve students' academic results Clear commitment to developing instruction Assessment as exceptionally qualified by the employer Qualification Process and Recruitment for Senior Teacher Positions Step 1: Qualification Process The purpose of the qualification process is to assess whether you meet the employer's requirements to apply for a senior teacher position. Beyond requirements for teacher certification and experience, your competence will be assessed in six areas. The assessment is based on a written questionnaire that you, as an applicant, will complete. The questionnaire will be sent to you if you meet the regulations' basic requirements. If you are assessed as meeting the criteria, you will be qualified to apply for senior teacher positions in Karlstad Municipality. Being qualified does not mean you will be assigned a senior teacher position, but rather that you will have the opportunity to apply for senior teacher positions that are announced later this fall. Those who are currently senior teachers in Karlstad Municipality are already qualified and therefore do not need to apply for or complete the qualification process. Step 2: Recruitment for Senior Teacher Positions All available senior teacher positions will be announced in a joint posting later this fall.
