Länsstyrelsen Skåne is a state authority at the regional level responsible for state administration in the county. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county based on regional conditions. Within our assignments, we work with consultation, permits and supervision, plans and strategies. We manage nature areas and distribute economic support. We collaborate with actors throughout the county. We have approximately 600 employees and have offices in Malmö and Kristianstad. Description The Government has decided that Sweden will be divided into six larger geographical areas for civil leadership and coordination, civil areas. In six counties, there are civil area responsible county administrations. The County Governor in these counties serves as civil area director for their respective civil area. Länsstyrelsen Skåne is the civil area responsible county administration with the task of leading and coordinating the southern civil area consisting of Skåne, Kronoberg, and Blekinge counties. Each county will continue to have responsibility for planning within the county. The County Governor in Skåne County, in their capacity as civil area director, shall lead the civil area's work and has a preparedness office in Malmö to support them. The Civil Area Office is seeking a qualified emergency management officer. The employment is permanent with a six-month probationary period. Start as soon as possible by agreement. Your placement will be in Malmö, Karlskrona, or Växjö with some opportunity to work remotely from home. Travel is part of the position. Responsibilities The Civil Area Office's tasks include handling matters, project management, planning, exercise activities, collaboration, and preparations for and during heightened alert status within the civil area. This position is primarily focused on collaboration with the military defense and the Swedish Armed Forces. You will be part of a work group and collaborate with external actors at both regional and national levels. In your role, you will have contact with the Swedish Armed Forces and the county administrations within the southern civil area, other county administrations, authorities, and actors within total defense. The civil area has an exciting role in developing societal preparedness. As an employee with us, you have three roles: employee, colleague, and service provider. We are looking for someone with an academic degree in social sciences or other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is important that you have excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and a good ability to express yourself in English. You have experience working digitally and in digital business programs, as well as good knowledge of the most common parts of the Office suite. Swedish citizenship is a requirement. It is meritorious if you have several years of experience with: work with defense or total defense planning in public administration or state-owned companies with related assignments work within emergency management authorities project management or leading processes analysis or investigative work handling matters with consideration for public access and confidentiality collaboration and cooperation with various actors in society You take initiative for and responsibility for activities and work in a structured manner by planning and implementing your work efficiently within given or self-set timeframes.
