JENSEN Elementary School started in Uppsala in 2010 and is now a well-regarded school with satisfied students and parents. JENSEN Elementary School Kåbo serves students in grades 4–9. As the school continues to grow, we are now seeking a dedicated school counselor who is passionate about student well-being and wants to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities - Conduct student meetings including support, conflict, and crisis discussions, as well as assessment conversations with students individually and in groups - Provide support to other staff members, for example during coaching sessions, and participate in the safety team - Be responsible for the school's equal treatment plan - Actively contribute to the overall development of the school and take responsibility for achieving operational goals - Work both preventatively and promotively, with group-strengthening initiatives in classes and with individual students through motivating conversations We are looking for someone who wants to develop professionally and contribute to student success. In your role as a counselor at JENSEN, you will have the opportunity to, together with engaged colleagues and present leadership, take overall responsibility for the school. At the same time, you will have considerable freedom to use your expertise to support the educational mission and identify and develop student resources. Qualifications You should have appropriate education for social work as a counselor, a degree in social work, or a degree in psychology, and experience working with young people is a merit. In your role as a counselor at our school, we are looking for a colleague who has strong abilities to build relationships with students and colleagues. You should be outgoing and able to create and maintain your relationships. Your role requires that you can work well with both school leadership and teachers. You are responsive but also willing to express your perspectives from your counselor's viewpoint. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You take great responsibility for your tasks and work as a counselor. You structure your own approach and drive your processes forward. In the role of counselor, you should have well-founded and clear values and integrity. You are guided by ethics and values in critical situations in your work. The role requires good and wise judgment combined with humility. Employment Terms This is a permanent position with a 50% employment level, starting immediately or by agreement.
