About Us In Gothenburg, everyone should be able to grow. Freely and independently. That requires more people to gain skills that match the labor market's needs. And through that, jobs, their own livelihood, and the opportunity to contribute to society. Regardless of how the journey looks, everyone should have a place in our city. That's why the Department for Employment and Adult Education exists. We see every person's potential and open paths forward. By coordinating Gothenburg's employment initiatives and ensuring municipal adult education, we set direction and serve as a hub for collaboration. Together with engaged entrepreneurs, academia, international companies, civil society, and other parts of the city, we work with collective strength toward common goals. In this way, we strengthen people and one of Sweden's largest labor markets. We open opportunities, every day. Now we are looking for a curator who wants to contribute to this work. Responsibilities As a curator with us, you have an important role in giving adults good conditions to succeed in their studies. Through investigative conversations and assessments, you evaluate applicants' needs for support and adjustments before education begins. The assessments form the basis for the rector's admission decisions and can also result in a written handover to the curators at our schools to create a smooth transition to studies. You will become part of our resource team where curators and special educators work closely together. We are an engaged and unpretentious team where we support each other in daily work and maintain a good work environment. We also collaborate with study and career advisors, admissions officers, rectors, and external partners. The role involves many shorter, investigative contacts where the focus is on assessing prerequisites for studies and support needs. This is not a traditional school curator position and does not include longer-term support conversations or treatment interventions. The position also includes administrative tasks in Alvis, PMO, and Kosmos, as well as participation in the unit's development work together with the rector teams. With us, you get independent work with responsibility. You plan and structure your work based on the operations' needs. When operations allow, there is the possibility of some remote work according to current guidelines. Qualifications To be relevant for this position, a degree in social work (socionom) is required. You have experience with investigative conversations, preferably within government authority, and enjoy meeting people in different life situations, for example those experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, or functional variations. You also have experience collaborating with other authorities and professions, preferably in multiprofessional teams. Experience from social services, adult education, or the Swedish Public Employment Service is meritorious, as is work with newly arrived individuals or people with special needs. We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills who enjoys working together with others. You keep the target group's best interests in focus and take responsibility for both your own tasks and the collective work. Equality work is a natural part of the assignment. As a person, you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. You take responsibility for driving your work forward and meet deadlines even when the pace is high. You are confident in your professional role and can make well-founded assessments in pressured and difficult situations under time pressure.
