We are looking for you to be a counselor As a school counselor at Realgymnasiet, you work as part of student welfare based on the School Act. You work in close collaboration with teachers and the student welfare team to contribute to the best conditions for learning for our students. You meet with students, guardians, and staff, offering profession-specific competence through conversations, support contacts, counseling, and guidance within the psychosocial field. You drive student welfare work together with your colleagues, from a broad perspective based on current educational offerings at the school. The work also takes place together with other educational staff at the school to contribute to students' goal achievement. Realgymnasiet Halmstad is a smaller school. Now we are looking for a counselor at 20% Qualifications To be a suitable candidate for this position, we see that you have: A relevant education in, for example, social psychology, social work, behavioral science, or social pedagogy at university level. Previous experience in the counselor role within upper secondary school. We are looking for you who: Enjoys being with students and getting to know them so they feel comfortable coming to you if they need to. You should have an easy time making contact and collaborating – both with students and colleagues. You will be part of a student welfare team where you are expected to take your own initiative on how we can develop both preventive student welfare work and the ongoing work with student matters that need to be handled. You should be able to mentor staff and help with demarcation between different professions when needed. You need to be self-directed and have a good ability to understand the current situation and keep ongoing processes moving that you are responsible for.
