We are seeking a cultural strategist with a particular focus on civil society and crisis management and preparedness issues, who in collaboration with our current cultural strategist in the Culture and Civil Society Sector operations, will help shape the future of cultural life in Västmanland. Together with us, you will influence cultural life in Västmanland and work to create the best conditions for a rich and varied cultural offering for the region's residents. Job Responsibilities As a cultural strategist with us, you will work with strategic issues within the Culture and Civil Society Sector's various operational areas. You are our strategic resource in matters concerning civil society participation, culture's role in crisis preparedness, and the development of guiding documents such as regional cultural plans and sports plans. An important part of the assignment is to: - Strengthen collaboration with civil society actors and investigate the conditions for a regional agreement with civil society organizations. - Work with association grants, scholarships, and project support. - Develop and coordinate work on crisis and preparedness issues within the culture and sports sectors. - Implement and follow up on the regional cultural plan in close collaboration with municipalities, cultural institutions, and civil society actors. You work in close dialogue with the units within the operations and support them in collaboration processes with municipalities, cultural creators, and organizations with regional mandates. You also have an important role in monitoring the external environment, preparing matters, producing decision-making documents for politicians, and participating in national and regional networks. This is a position where you take substantial independent responsibility, work together with others, lead processes, and take your own initiatives within your area of work. Travel occasionally occurs in the work, such as when needed, duty on evenings or weekends. Monitoring the external environment is part of the work. About the Workplace The Culture and Civil Society Sector operations within Region Västmanland have the mandate to, through collaboration and anchoring with municipalities and other actors, contribute to the development of culturally prioritized areas based on the regional cultural plan. The work is based on regional and state guidance and strategy documents and is part of the broader regional development mandate. Good experience with collaboration with municipalities, non-profit organizations, and public actors. Ability to analyze, structure, and lead processes as well as formulate guiding documents and decision-making materials. Experience working with grant administration, consultations, or coordination of cross-sectoral assignments. It is meritorious if you have experience working with cultural plans or similar guiding documents, as well as knowledge of crisis and preparedness issues within the cultural sector. You are a person who takes initiative, sees connections, builds relationships, and wants to make a difference. You express yourself well in speech and writing, thrive in collaborative environments, and have the ability to see both the whole picture and details.
