About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transport. The Saltvik Operations Area includes the prisons of Saltvik, Härnösand, and Ljustadalen, as well as the Saltvik remand facility. The operations area encompasses a wide range of facilities, from the open women's prison Ljustadalen to the closed prison Saltvik, which in addition to regular units also has one of the country's three high-security units. The Härnösand prison is also a closed facility. The largest occupational group is correctional officers, but the area also employs healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or work in the prisons' packaging/assembly, laundry, or woodworking departments. You can easily reach the Saltvik prison and remand facility by bus or car and park in our staff parking lot. The Härnösand prison is located in the center of town with good bus connections and staff parking. The Ljustadalen prison is just outside Birsta and also offers staff parking and good bus connections. Job Description Would you like to work with people who are undergoing positive change?
