About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating existing ones, and expanding our operations. We are now seeking additional staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transportation. Job Description As a Correctional Officer in the Transport Department (TA), you will be part of a team consisting of two to four people where everyone is responsible for different roles in conducting inmate transports. The roles distributed within the work group are driver, transport officer, and transport leader. You will meet a wide variety of clients of different ages with different backgrounds and experiences. You will conduct searches, place detainees in custody, and supervise clients during transport. Work Hours Information TA's assignments are varied, which means your working hours can change from day to day. Evening, night, and weekend work may be included. The times in the schedule are framework hours, typically 07:30-17:00. Nationally, it is more common to finish before the framework time ends, and in most cases you have a fixed start time. Framework hours mean that the employer can change the start and end times. Changes are communicated before the previous work shift ends. For example, a shift could be between 07:00-19:00 (12 hours) or 09:00-16:00 (7 hours). Working hours are reconciled every third month. If you have worked more than expected, you will receive overtime compensation. If you have worked less, you will still receive your normal salary.
