The Probation Service in the Stockholm region has offices in Sollentuna, Huddinge, and at Gärdet, not far from commuter trains and subway stations. Job Description In your role as a Correctional Officer in the Probation Service, you contribute to a safer and more secure society. In this role, you are the face of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and the first person visitors come into contact with at the probation office. Your duties include staffing the probation office reception, conducting security checks for safe entry, and monitoring clients under electronic supervision, including home visits and workplace visits. You will also be responsible for technical management and readiness for electronic monitoring enforcement and community service inspections. Part of your work time will be spent with a colleague in a vehicle, as we cover large geographical areas. You work closely with probation inspectors, administrators, and the correctional manager who is your direct supervisor. You work in a team on a rotating schedule Monday through Sunday, day and evening shifts, together with your correctional colleagues. As a Correctional Officer with a service assignment in the Probation Service, you need to be confident, stable, have high integrity, and good judgment. You communicate clearly and have the ability to build positive relationships through professional and respectful conduct. Together with your colleagues, you plan and carry out daily work, which requires flexibility and strong teamwork skills. You are attentive, accommodating, and have interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You should be both organized and someone who strives to deliver solutions to both technical and practical challenges. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group membership affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute through your approach to ensuring that everyone is treated equitably. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for candidates who have: Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant. Work experience includes seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not equivalent to employment. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Good computer skills. B-class driver's license with good driving experience. It is also meritorious to have: Approved Swedish Prison and Probation Service training. Relevant work experience in one or more areas. Correctional work, preferably in the Probation Service, security work, or psychosocial work such as in residential care or community mental health services where you have interacted with people in vulnerable situations. Experience with security checks/access control or other technical work, such as electronic monitoring. Knowledge or experience of conflict management or close client-facing work. Experience in service professions, for example in retail, restaurants, or reception. Relevant language skills in addition to Swedish and English.
