About the Position
As a Power System Specialist in Voltage Stability, you will develop solutions within voltage and reactive power for the Swedish power system. The role combines analysis, method development, and strategic work with a focus on ensuring a stable and robust transmission network.
You will work on developing methods, models, working approaches, and strategies to meet future challenges in voltage stability and voltage regulation. The work includes both project-specific studies and comprehensive analyses that contribute to the development of how the power system is planned and operated.
The role includes, among other things:
- conduct analyses and studies within voltage and reactive power as well as develop methods and models for voltage studies
- contribute to principles for voltage regulation, reactive resources, and measures to prevent voltage instability
- participate in work with technical requirements and guidelines for connections to the transmission network
- follow technology development and apply new solutions for the benefit of the power system.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues within the unit and with other parts of the organization, and often serve as expert support in cross-functional matters. The role also involves collaboration with grid operators, power producers, authorities, and other industry stakeholders.

You will be part of the Network Planning Development unit, which currently consists of approximately 13 employees divided into two teams: Voltage and Development. You will be part of the Voltage team, which consists of seven employees. The unit is responsible for, among other things, Svenska kraftnät's network development plan, management and development of the network planning handbook, forecast collaboration, method development, and design criteria for network planning.

Education:
You have a degree in civil engineering or a master's degree with a relevant specialization for the position, such as electrical power, energy systems, or technical physics, or alternatively equivalent experience acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät considers equivalent.
You also have:
- several years of relevant work experience in power system technical analyses
- good understanding of the power grid structure
- knowledge of the most important network codes (RfG, DCC, SO-GL, or HVDC) and their structure and implementation
- good skills in Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
Meritorious:
- experience with PSS/E or equivalent tools
- experience working with relevant network codes
- experience in Python programming
- experience working with voltage stability and reactive power.

The position is located in Sundbyberg, Västerås, or Gothenburg
Opportunity for remote work up to 50%, if the work allows. #LI-hybrid.
Travel may occur in this position but not regularly
