Kvarnbergsskolan is a grades 6-9 school located in central Gustavsberg, approximately 30 minutes by bus from Slussen. The school underwent extensive renovation and expansion 6 years ago and now has modern facilities adapted for work with upper grades. The school is also home to one of the municipality's special education groups for students in grades 6-9, Kvarnbergsgruppen. Our school has a warm and dedicated staff focused on students' best interests. To ensure support for students, there is a special education team where special education teachers work closely with other teachers to support struggling students in adapted learning environments and smaller groups. We particularly focus on the school's mission to promote students' comprehensive personal development. An important starting point for us is that academic development goes hand in hand with social development. Therefore, we have several social pedagogues at the school who collaborate with teachers in work teams around the students. We are now seeking several short-term substitutes for our substitute list. The role involves substituting for absent teachers, sometimes with short notice. The assignment includes attendance tracking, conducting lessons according to the regular teacher's planning, and helping the rest of the staff maintain our school rules. We need short-term substitutes in all of the school's subjects. We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary school and has a genuine interest in working in schools. Subject knowledge/interest in the school's various subjects is a merit, as is previous experience substituting at the middle school level. Previous experience leading young people, such as team leader, camp leader, or confirmation leader, is also a merit. We are positive if you are a former student at Kvarnbergsskolan and therefore know us and our working methods. We expect you to be confident and have integrity, to work with low-affect methods, and to create a school environment where students feel safe and the regular teacher's planning is followed. You should have a positive view of students based on the belief that students can and want to learn, and you value differences. We also expect you to be able and willing to collaborate with both students and colleagues at the school. The role requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great importance on personal suitability. For this position, presentation of a valid police certificate of good conduct is a requirement for employment. Employment is part-time and fixed-term positions during fall semester 2026 based on needs related to regular staff absence. Application deadline is September 10.
