Faculty of Forest Science Wallenberg Initiatives in Forest Research (WIFORCE) is Sweden's largest research program in forest management and forest genetics with a budget for the period 2019-2030 of approximately 900 million SEK including co-financing. WIFORCE consists of a research program in Future Silviculture and a research program in Forest Biology and Biotechnology. WIFORCE also includes a graduate school with 51 doctoral students, a WIFORCE Arena, and a data support center. About the Position As a coordinator, you will assist the program director for WIFORCE in coordinating the research program. You will be the contact person within WIFORCE for companies, industry, and various government agencies participating in the research program. As part of your role as coordinator, you will also monitor EU matters for the faculty's operations. Your Background We are looking for someone with research training who has experience supervising doctoral students, preferably both nationally and internationally. You should also have experience coordinating collaborative projects between universities and industry or government agencies. As a coordinator, you enjoy collaborating within and outside the faculty and engaging colleagues in the activities to ensure we can implement a successful research program. Experience in project management and network building is an advantage. Proficiency in speaking and writing in both Swedish and English is required. Since the work involves many contacts both within and outside SLU, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities regarding communication, collaboration, initiative, and organizational skills. We would appreciate it if you work on-site to promote collaboration and a positive work environment, though there is flexibility to work from home when operations permit. About Us The Faculty of Forest Science (S-Faculty) conducts education, research, environmental analysis, and collaboration within forest science. The faculty has 11 departments with approximately 700 employees and a turnover of 1.1 billion SEK. At the faculty office, we work with overall planning, financial management, investigations, and follow-up within the faculty's various operational areas, and we provide administrative support to faculty leadership as well as the faculty council and its committees and subcommittees.
