Linköpings kommun · Full-time
Sankt Larsgatan 46, Utbildningsförvaltningen, Linköping, Sweden
Would you like to be the one who gives young people a new chance at a meaningful future? As a coordinator at Future Focus, you will make a real difference for youth who need strengthened support to take the next step toward education and employment. Your Responsibilities The Future Focus project is a new important initiative for young people in Linköping. The project started in January 2026 and targets individuals aged 16–20 who are outside school and work. As a coordinator, you will work to support them toward a meaningful future. According to the Education Act, the municipality has an activity responsibility that includes contacting young people who choose not to attend upper secondary school and offering them appropriate measures, of which the Future Focus initiative is intended to be a part. Your main task is to help young people establish routines and increase their participation in the program, with progression from approximately 2 to 10 hours per week. The role involves you: Creating meaningful activities and supporting young people in establishing routines and finding purpose in their daily lives. Planning and implementing daily activities that may include getting to know one another, social interaction, and study visits. Providing individual support through conversations and preparations for internships or continued schooling. Systematically documenting attendance, activities, and progress. Participating in regular check-ins and collaboration meetings with KAA and other partners. You will work in a close team together with a colleague. Together, you will support a number of young people during their time in the Future Focus program. Your Workplace The new Future Focus initiative works closely with the Municipal Activity Responsibility (KAA) in Linköping. You will collaborate with the operations manager/principal at Linnégymnasiet 1, whose close collaboration with KAA and its leadership ensures strong support and a shared direction. The location is in a space at Linnégymnasiet consisting of two rooms and a kitchen. The proximity to the school is a major advantage, as it allows young people to easily explore the school environment without having to navigate the entire school. The work environment will be characterized by strong commitment and close collaboration to support young people in difficult situations. Linköping Municipality's investment through the Future Focus project is from a societal perspective, with the goal of supporting as many young people as possible to move forward in employment and feel they have a meaningful future.
