Department of Applied Animal Science and Welfare About the Position Do you want to contribute to the development of sustainable Swedish aquaculture and work at the intersection of research, collaboration, and communication? We are now seeking an engaged and well-organized coordinator for a combined position within SLU Aquaculture and the National Competence Center for Aquaculture (NKfV). The position comprises 70 percent of a full-time employment, with the possibility of expansion to full-time through additional assignments. The position is distributed as follows: - 20% within SLU Aquaculture, SLU's faculty-wide platform for promoting and coordinating research and education in aquaculture. - 50% National Competence Center for Aquaculture (NKfV), which coordinates education and professional development within Swedish aquaculture and towards Europe. As a coordinator, you will have a central role in supporting and developing aquaculture activities in collaboration with researchers, educators, authorities, and the business sector. The work includes operational coordination and strategic support to steering committees, networks, and development initiatives. Within NKfV, you will work closely with the coordinator at Swemarc, University of Gothenburg. Together, you will be responsible for planning and conducting the national aquaculture conference. The work involves many contacts with stakeholders inside and outside academia and requires strong relationship-building abilities, the capacity to create engagement, and drive activities forward. Your Responsibilities Include: - Plan and coordinate meetings, educational activities, seminars, workshops, and conferences, including the national aquaculture conference - Develop national and international networks and collaboration models in close cooperation with NKfV's coordinator at Swemarc, University of Gothenburg, as well as with academia, authorities, the business sector, and other societal stakeholders - Contribute to national coordination and development of research, education, and competence provision within aquaculture - Support steering committees and projects through planning, administration, documentation, and activity follow-up - Plan and implement communication initiatives and produce content for websites, newsletters, and social media to highlight research, education, and innovation. The position involves business travel. Your Background We are Looking for Someone Who: - Has an academic degree at least at bachelor's level, - Has documented experience of working at a university or college, - Has very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, - Has good ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written, - Is well-organized, self-driven, and has good collaboration skills, - Enjoys working in networks and coordinating activities and people, - Has the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple parallel tasks, - Has good administrative skills and experience with coordination tasks. It is Advantageous if You Have Experience With: - Independently coordinating and following up complex projects, processes, or activities, - Planning and conducting conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions, or other major events, - Developing and coordinating collaboration between, for example, academia, authorities, the business sector, and other societal stakeholders, - Independently planning and producing communication content for, for example, websites, newsletters, and social media, - Work within aquaculture or related areas, such as food production, blue bioeconomy, environment, or natural resource management.
