The Leisure and Youth Unit is one of four units within the Culture and Leisure Department. The Leisure and Youth Unit's areas of activity concern civil society and association life, sports, facilities, the Leisure Library, facility booking, and youth matters. Work Tasks We are seeking two coordinators for the culture and leisure guidance method, which is a new initiative where you will have the opportunity to help build an activity that creates real opportunities for meaningful leisure time – for the children and young people who need it most. The activity should strengthen protective factors, reduce inequality, and contribute to a more preventative approach in line with, among other things, the new Social Services Act. As a coordinator for culture and leisure guidance, you work closely with children, young people, and their families who need support to find contexts, belonging, and meaningful activities. Your task is not primarily to create new activities – but to open doors to those that already exist. You will be an important link between children and young people, their families, and society's various arenas, and will contribute to lowering barriers to meaningful leisure time. In your role as coordinator for culture and leisure guidance, you will meet children and young people individually, build trusting relationships, and map out their interests, needs, and obstacles. The work also includes maintaining contacts with associations and other civil society organizations and municipal activities, and guiding them to their operations. This may mean that in your role you need to accompany them at first contact and create a sense of security in new contexts. In the role, you will also collaborate with social services, schools, leisure activities, and other actors to work together on developing approaches that support the individual's development. Qualifications You have a higher education degree in the pedagogical, social, social science, or sports field and experience within the culture and/or leisure sector. It is advantageous if you have experience working with children and young people in vulnerable environments, experience with promotion and prevention work and early interventions for children and young people, and experience with qualified collaboration across different areas of activity and between different actors in society. You need a class B driver's license for this position. We are looking for someone with a proactive and problem-solving approach. Since the work is largely based on independence, it is important that you have the ability to manage parallel tasks, plan, and carry out your work in a structured manner. To succeed in the role, you need to have a good understanding of systems and be able to navigate between different actors within the municipality, associations, and the rest of civil society for the individual's benefit. Experience in establishing and maintaining well-functioning collaborations, collaborating between municipal institutions and associations, and working in various ways to guide children and young people is an important prerequisite for performing this role. We would like you to have experience working with children and families in vulnerable situations and an understanding of the conditions of association life. You need to have good communication skills, both verbal and written, have administrative experience, be service-oriented, and enjoy working with many different people and actors. The work requires that you are accustomed to meeting young people in their everyday life and can translate relationships into concrete measures and activities. In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + certificate of identity from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that establish citizenship. For some positions, presentation of an excerpt from the police's suspicion and criminal records is required. We would appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sámi varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sámi administrative areas. In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security classification, so a security check may be conducted.
