Do you want to contribute to creating social value and developing the county's emergency preparedness? Starting from the new year, the County Administrative Board in Stockholm will be responsible for inspecting civil shelters in the county. We are looking for you to work as a shelter inspector and contribute to this new mission. You will be part of developing our work methods and begin inspections of the county's shelters. What does the role include? Shelters are a very important part of Sweden's civil preparedness and exist to protect the population during societal threats and other serious events. As a shelter inspector, you will conduct inspections and follow-up inspections of shelters in Stockholm County. You may also participate in investigation matters and work with administrative tasks related to the assignment. You will be part of the newly established shelter group at the Unit for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness. Together with your colleagues, you will plan your inspections, send notices to property owners, conduct the inspections, and follow up to ensure that any deficiencies are remedied. The role also includes guidance, meaning you will provide advice and support on various questions about shelters asked by property owners and the public. The assignment is new, which means you will be involved in developing work methods and procedure descriptions. The position involves travel within Stockholm County. As an employee of the County Administrative Board, you may also be directed to other work tasks within the department or at the agency, as we are an emergency preparedness agency and may receive temporary assignments that need to be solved quickly. It is therefore a prerequisite that you as a person have an interest in working broadly when the opportunity arises. Are you the person we are looking for? For this role, we want you to have: Relevant education or other relevant and current competence from the construction or property industry, or several years of current experience with site-based supervision that the County Administrative Board considers relevant, good ability to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing, a B-category driving license. To succeed in the role, you need to be confident in yourself, have integrity, and the courage to make decisions even in complex and sometimes challenging situations. You are structured, analytical, and helpful, with good communication and pedagogical skills. You can prioritize and are experienced in handling many cases in parallel. You enjoy collaborating but also feel comfortable working independently. As an employee of the County Administrative Board, you need to: have the ability to make decisions from a holistic perspective taking multiple perspectives into account, understand that a central role for the County Administrative Board is to balance different interests, have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts. We place great importance on personal qualities. It is a merit if you have: experience with property inspections or equivalent, experience with shelter work or concrete structures that we consider relevant, experience with site-based supervision work, other experience working at a state agency. More about us and the role The position is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. It is full-time, based in Stockholm. You will have the opportunity to work remotely when the business allows. We want you to start as soon as possible or by agreement. You will be part of the Unit for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness, which is part of the Department for Emergency Preparedness, a growing department at the agency, with currently nearly 60 employees. As a permanent employee of the County Administrative Board in Stockholm, you will be war-placed according to the needs of total defense and may be included in the agency's organization in crisis mode.
