On behalf of the regional council, the Art Department within Regionfastigheter is responsible for managing and developing Region Skåne's art collection. It is a broad area of responsibility that ranges from acquisition and mediation to preservation of artistic design within activities financed and managed by Region Skåne. Special focus is on public spaces, primarily within healthcare environments. WORK TASKS Do you want to work practically with art and contribute to inspiring environments that promote health and well-being? Then this position might be for you! We are looking for an art technician who wants to work with the practical handling of Region Skåne's extensive art collection. As an art technician, you have a key role in the physical handling of the collection where you combine technical skill with artistic understanding. You are responsible for professionally and safely installing, transporting, and caring for artworks, from new acquisitions to long-term storage, and work practically with the entire chain: planning and executing installations, transports, packing, storage, and returns. Your duties include safe mounting, dismounting, unframing, and rehinging of artworks in healthcare and public environments, as well as minor carpentry work, repairs, preventive conservation, and participation in inventorying and updating the collection's registration. You make technical assessments on-site of public art. Your work is carried out in an aesthetic and innovative manner in close collaboration with art curators and art administrators, so that Region Skåne's art collection is preserved and developed for the future. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with vocational training or documented experience in art handling, exhibition techniques, carpentry, construction, or similar practical field that the employer deems relevant. You have a good sense of quality and safety when handling art, are meticulous and service-oriented, and enjoy both independent work and close teamwork. Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, and good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package are required, as is a valid driver's license category B since the position involves travel. It is meritorious if you have • Artistic education at bachelor's level • Documented experience with art handling at art museums and galleries, in project environments, and in construction processes. • Documented experience with artistic techniques, materials, and installations. • Experience with image management and registration systems. • Experience with public procurement and management of artistic design in public environments. You combine technical skill with artistic understanding and will become a key person in the development, use, and preservation of Region Skåne's art collection. You are independent and confident in managing your own work, communicative, and skilled at conveying messages.
