About the Position As a Structural Designer at Västanfors Stålbyggnader, you will primarily work on creating working drawings and specifications for the manufacturing and assembly of steel structures. You will work in Tekla Structures, software where you build a model in a 3D environment that generates elevations, plans, sections, and manufacturing drawings. Your foundation will be structural calculations performed by a Structural Engineer. You will be responsible for documented verification of technical descriptions, building codes, etc. Throughout the entire sales/construction process, you will support the sales team, participate in design meetings, handle procurement, solve problems in consultation with customers, sales staff, and consultants, thereby ensuring a high-quality end product that meets the customer's wishes and expectations. The work of a structural designer is varied, responsible, and independent. The team has broad expertise, good team spirit, and a collaborative attitude. The office is characterized by an open culture where knowledge is shared, collaboration is encouraged, and we help each other in our daily work. This is a permanent position with assignment at our client Västanfors Stålbyggnader. About You We are looking for someone who is driven, a quick learner, and wants to achieve results. To get you into the role as quickly as possible, we see that you have a technical background or education—preferably in construction. Furthermore, you have experience drawing, creating, and working in digital environments. Previous experience with Tekla Structures is a merit. Through internal training, we want you to become confident in independent work as a Structural Designer—both when creating drawings and in customer interactions. Since our founding in 1953, Västanfors Stålbyggnader has erected over 7,000 steel halls, from small storage facilities to large sports arenas and aircraft hangars. The buildings are designed by our structural designers in the office in Fagersta using the latest 3D technology. The steel frames are then welded together, followed by corrosion protection and painting in Västanfors' own workshop on the other side of the yard.
