Creative Specialist / Design Engineer - Värnamo Would you like to combine technology, creativity, and customer focus to create tomorrow's packaging solutions? About the Role The design engineer role involves many touchpoints and close collaboration with sales, graphic designers, customers, and production. Through technical expertise, creativity, and understanding of the customer's business, you will identify improvement areas and develop solutions that create added value, efficiency, and sustainability. You will use our PackRight tools to analyze customers' transport chains and translate insights into concrete recommendations and improvements regarding optimizing logistics, reducing material consumption, and improving their overall packaging performance. Driving projects and workshops where you challenge existing approaches, visualize new ideas, and develop solutions that meet customers' needs today and in the future is a major part of your workday. Together with the sales team and our graphic designers, you will contribute to strengthening our customer offering and create packaging solutions and concepts that make a difference. We offer a varied work environment where you combine computer-based work with hands-on work at our cutting table where we develop prototypes. The role also involves some travel related to customer meetings, workshops, and projects. We would like to see that you have: Experience from the paper and packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment. Good understanding of materials, design, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of CAD tools and reading drawings in 2D and 3D. Experience with ArtiosCAD and CAPE. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Why DS Smith?
