The Project Engineers South department consists of approximately 20 committed engineers working in electrical design, automation, and mechanical design. Geographically, we are located in several places throughout Sweden working together as a tight team remotely. We are responsible for creating designs for control systems for switchgear stations and hydropower stations. Travel occurs in the position to visit the stations. At Vattenfall Services, over 170 engineers work in control systems and testing throughout Sweden, which means we offer good opportunities for collaboration and development for our engineers. Is it you we are looking for when we now recruit a construction manager for our Station Projects? About the Role What does a Construction Manager for Station Projects do with us? Our customers are found in energy and grid companies, industries, and infrastructure companies. The position involves leading our electrical designers who develop electrical designs for station projects for transformer stations. This includes design of control systems, local power, relay protection, communication, etc. VSN handles station projects at all voltage levels from 10 kV to 400 kV. The projects involve both renovation and new construction projects. You have one or more designers in your project team that you lead, discuss technical solutions with, and review their work. You lead multiple projects in parallel. Within the scope of the projects, you report to the project manager. You have the technical responsibility and the project manager has the commercial responsibility. Here are examples of work tasks/responsibilities that will be included: Lead work on the development of complete electrical designs Review of colleagues' designs Ensure technical functionality and contract compliance Customer dialogue regarding technical solutions Review of suppliers' technical solutions Review of suppliers' deliveries such as GIS switchgear, transformers, etc. Be a mentor to junior staff in Elmaster Be a super user in Elmaster Requirements Specification We are looking for you who are analytical and enjoy solving complex problems – for you nothing is impossible! You are very well versed in the field and would like to share your knowledge with your colleagues. Taking on a task and bringing it to completion together with the design team is self-evident for you. Since the work involves complex issues, we also want you to be structured in your working methods. We know you will develop together with us. But we would like you to already have: Many years of experience with designs of control systems for switchgear or hydropower stations Experience with relay protection configuration Experience with RTU, backup alarm transmitters, PLC programming A post-secondary electrical power education or equivalent work experience in electrical power Good knowledge of Elmaster Good IT and computer skills Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Driver's license (Category B) is required Meritorious: Leadership experience, good pedagogical ability Experience mentoring junior electrical designers Good knowledge of Elprocad or EPLAN Additional Information We Offer After several decades in the energy industry, we know that our employees are our most important and valuable asset.
