The Cultural Administration has approximately 800 employees working primarily in libraries, cultural centers, museums, and other cultural activities. About the Position Gothenburg Art Hall is a gathering place for contemporary art where exhibitions, discussions, creative activities, and public programs open new perspectives and experiences. We are seeking an art educator who wants to help develop a creative, inclusive, and accessible program for people of all ages. Following its move from Götaplatsen, Gothenburg Art Hall is preparing for its reopening at Slakthuset in Gamlestaden in spring 2027. This is an exciting development phase where new working methods, pedagogical approaches, and ways of engaging with the public are taking shape. As an art educator, you will play an important role in shaping the new art hall and creating relevant and engaging encounters between contemporary art and our visitors. In this role, you will plan, implement, and develop school programs, guided tours, workshops, and other activities in the art hall's various spaces. You will work creatively with contemporary art and design educational concepts using different formats, materials, and artistic techniques. The educational programs target various audiences and age groups, with a special focus on children and young people. The work takes place both on-site at the art hall and through outreach activities. An important part of the assignment is working with children and young people in schools. Therefore, you need a strong understanding of school curricula and educational frameworks. You can translate pedagogical knowledge into art education activities and create programs that respect schools' conditions while opening up creative and artistic processes. You will be part of a team of art educators where you collectively plan, implement, and develop educational activities, share knowledge and experience, and test new ideas and working methods. The position also includes administrative work and planning. This is a permanent position at 70 percent with daytime work as well as evenings and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: - Higher education in art pedagogy, art teacher training, or equivalent education with a pedagogical focus on visual arts - Experience in art education with different age groups and audiences - Experience with artistic techniques and practical work in workshops or studios - Strong digital competence and experience using digital tools for communication, planning, administration, and digital pedagogical tools - Good knowledge of contemporary art and contemporary artistic practices Who Thrives in This Role?
