The role of the Land Warfare School (MSS) is to work together with other parts of the military to create conditions for the armed forces to accomplish their assigned tasks in the best way possible, both nationally and internationally. MSS also handles tasks for the entire armed forces such as development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms and support weapons. About the position At STA MOUT (combat training facility for military operations in urban terrain), you will have the opportunity to work with exciting tasks. You are part of an experienced and close-knit work group of 3 operators, 1 simulator technician, 1 systems technician and 6 professional officers (Chief, Deputy Chief/KÖL, 4 platoon instructors). Your main task is to conduct training and exercises with units booked at the STA MOUT facility. In the preparation phase, you coordinate with the unit to set the framework, including what objectives should be achieved. During execution, you lead the exercise scenario together with the trained unit's KÖL. You direct and coordinate STA MOUT's platoon instructors and operators, the trained unit's instructors, and the opposing force. You communicate via radio with the platoon exercise leaders who physically follow the platoons; they are connected to an Operator who gathers evaluation data via Expert. You normally lead from the Exercise Leader House where the operators are also located. After each exercise phase, an evaluation takes place with compiled data from the Operators. This may include radio traffic, positions/movements, destroyed targets, film/photos, and situation maps. Outside of unit exercises, you are responsible for internal (supplementary) training in MOUT and weapons service or other training needs to meet the units' requirements during exercises. Other duties include maintenance of equipment such as vehicles, weapons, etc. You also participate in facility maintenance, including buildings and to some extent the technical systems. Qualifications - Several years of experience in a unit with combat as its primary mission. Combat at company and battalion level. - Experienced educator with the competence to train platoons/companies across the full spectrum from low to very high training level. - Good skills in leading maneuver company operations. - Company Exercise Leader (KÖL). - Fluent Swedish in speech and writing. - Good knowledge of English. - Good physical capability. Merit factors - Experience leading a work team in stressful and complex environments toward established goals. - Competence in indirect fire, maintenance, technical service, UAV. - Weapons courses (AK4, AK5, AK24, AKM4, KSP58/90, P88). - Competence in night equipment such as sights and carried sensors.
