We are now looking for a communications officer with press responsibility for a temporary position of approximately 10 months. We believe you thrive in a role where you take significant independent responsibility, collaborate with many different people, and switch between long-term communications work and faster interventions when needs arise. About the Position As a communications officer with press responsibility with us, you will have a varied role where you combine press work with broad communications. You are responsible for Scouterna's press contacts and media work, while also contributing to communications initiatives for the organization's activities, projects, fundraising, and advocacy work. The role involves both strategic and operational work and suits you if you enjoy switching between different types of communications tasks. You will be part of the Communications and Fundraising Department, and together we are 11 employees working closely together to strengthen Scouterna's communications, engagement, and ability to make a difference for more children and young people. Some of the most important tasks in the role are to: Handle and respond to press inquiries. Write press releases, articles, and other editorial content. Manage and develop Scouterna's press room. Monitor the external environment and identify relevant communications opportunities. Lead and support Scouterna's young spokespersons. Contribute to communications initiatives related to fundraising, advocacy, and priority projects. Produce content for web and newsletters. Serve as communications support to colleagues and operations on various communications matters. About You To succeed in the role, we see that you have: 3–5 years of experience in press work. Experience working as a communications officer with both strategic and operational communications tasks. Relevant education in communications, journalism, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience. Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Good digital proficiency and experience working in Microsoft 365. It is a merit if you have experience with communications work in a membership organization or mission-driven activity. As a person, you are confident, relationship-building, and thrive in environments where you can build trust and collaborate with many different people. You work unpretentiously, see the bigger picture, and are happy to contribute to common results. You are also solution-oriented and can quickly familiarize yourself with new issues, prioritize between different needs, and create structure in a day-to-day situation where circumstances sometimes change. With good judgment and a calm approach, you manage both opportunities and challenges that arise along the way. About Us Scouterna is a membership organization with a long history of offering children and young people meaningful leisure time. We who work at Scouterna are based in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Västerås and are approximately 70 employees in total. As a workplace, we are characterized by a desire to make decisions as close to operations as possible, which contributes to strong ownership of what we implement. Scouterna offers its employees nice facilities, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and good working conditions. Scouterna works closely with volunteer leaders and engaged members throughout the country. This means that some work in the evenings and on weekends occurs at, for example, trainings, events, and other operational activities. In this position, it likely means a couple of weekends per year and a couple of evenings per month. Participation in our annual meeting in November 2026 will be included. How We Recruit The position is a temporary position with planned employment until June 2027. Start date is as soon as possible by agreement.
