Do you want to lead and develop communications at one of Sweden's most important authorities? As Communications Director, you have a central role in strengthening the agency's communications capabilities and developing and enhancing our shared customer experience. About the role The Common Functions Department was formed on April 1, 2025 and consists of approximately 150 employees. Here we bring together the agency's enabling functions in finance, analysis, procurement, facilities, customer service, communications, human resources and development. The department is in a development phase where coordination, common working methods and business development are in focus. The Customer and Communications Unit consists of approximately 20 competent, engaged and motivated employees. As Communications Director, you lead the unit and have managerial responsibility for three people, two of whom are section heads who together are responsible for the unit's operational deliveries and development. Together you ensure that internal and external communications, customer insights and leadership communications contribute to business development and strengthen customer experience and the agency's communications capabilities. You have agency-wide responsibility for internal and external communications, customer inquiries, branding, graphic profile and ensuring that communications channels are accessible and usable. You are also responsible for the agency's leadership communications and for translating customer and user insights into the development of operations, services and communications. A central part of the assignment is to further develop a customer-driven, coordinated and operations-oriented function that strengthens trust in the agency and the interaction between operations, employees, customers and communications, as well as contribute to a more customer-focused approach and customer culture throughout the agency. You are part of the department's management team and report to the Department Director. In the management team, you contribute with a holistic perspective and together with other managers take responsibility for the department's overall mission, results and development. You must have an academic degree in media and communications or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent experience in management positions with responsibility for personnel, budgets, work environment and operations several years of experience leading, driving and developing a strategic and operational communications operation experience developing organizations' communications capabilities through management, leadership, collaboration and strategic communications experience working in large and complex organizations experience in crisis communications, press and media management a good understanding of political decision-making processes experience with strategic work close to management or in a management team It is advantageous if you also have experience with strategic work in digital communications and digital channels a similar role within public administration or other public sector operations the private sector or other relevant industry developing customer-focused approaches or work with customer and user insights culture and change work in large organizations To succeed in this role You are a confident and communicative leader who builds trust, engagement and good collaborations. You have a strategic and analytical approach and can translate goals and direction into communications that contribute to business objectives and create value for those we exist to serve. You drive development and change with persistence and focus on operational needs. You communicate clearly and pedagogically, are receptive to different perspectives and create consensus on complex issues. You inspire engagement, build trust and get people to collaborate toward common goals. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. More information The position is permanent with a management assignment of four years, based in Norrköping or Örebro. Appointment by agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. Opportunities for remote work are available based on operational needs, up to three days per week. Employment with us may involve placement in a security classification. A security vetting with record check under the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our work tasks in security classification, Swedish citizenship is required.
