About the Role As Municipal Director, you are the municipality's highest-ranking official and lead, coordinate, and develop operations on behalf of the political leadership. You will have the opportunity to further develop the municipality's governance, strengthen cooperation between politics and administration, and create an organization with clear priorities, good collaboration, and a shared focus on results. You are responsible for translating political decisions into results, lead the municipality's management group, and have overall responsibility for governance, finances, and development. You work closely with the Municipal Council and serve as a central link between politics and administration. The role also involves representing the municipality externally and driving initiatives that strengthen the municipality's development and attractiveness. About You You have a relevant academic degree in political science, law, or equivalent, as well as management experience from public sector operations. You have a good understanding of politically governed organizations, experience in strategic leadership, and experience leading through other managers. You have documented experience in developing governance, organization, and working methods in a politically governed operation and are accustomed to creating structure, building trusting relationships, and translating strategic decisions into concrete results. Meritorious qualifications Experience in a leading position within the municipal sector, for example, as a Municipal Director, Deputy Municipal Director, or Administrative Manager. Experience in developing governance, management processes, and cooperation between politics and administration. Experience representing operations in media and other external contexts. Personal Qualities You are a confident, clear, and communicative leader who builds trust through integrity, responsiveness, and stable leadership. You have the ability to create confidence, build strong relationships, and unite the organization around shared goals. With a strategic holistic perspective and trust-based leadership, you create structure, clarity, and direction, and drive development and long-term sustainable results together with the organization.
