About the Workplace
Eskilstuna Pastorate consists of four congregations, two preschools, and a burial service. The pastorate's support functions have broad expertise in areas such as communication, economics, HR, and property management, which creates good conditions for the congregations to focus on their core mission.
S:t Ansgars Congregation is located in the heart of a multicultural area where encounters between people, languages, cultures, and traditions are a natural part of everyday life. The congregation encompasses two churches, nine employees, and a large number of committed volunteers. Together with Västra Rekarne Congregation, our rural congregation with six employees, we form a shared work team where collaboration, community, and mutual support characterize daily life.
Both congregations are in an exciting development phase. We invest long-term in work with children, teenagers, and confirmation candidates and see positive development both in the scope of activities and in the number of participants. There is genuine commitment here and a willingness to think in new ways, while we stand firmly in the Swedish Church's faith and tradition.

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for someone with a passion for teenagers' life questions, community, and faith. You are relationship-building, confident in your identity as a priest, and see the value of developing trusting relationships over time. You enjoy collaborating with others and have the ability to inspire both young people and colleagues and volunteer leaders.
To thrive as an assistant minister with us, you will have an important role both strategically and operationally. You will be a driving force in developing the congregations' work with children, teenagers, and young adults, in close collaboration with educators, musicians, volunteer leaders, and other staff members.
The assignment includes developing work with children, teenagers, and young adults, planning and implementing confirmation instruction, participating in camps, youth gatherings, and other meeting places for young people. Contributing to creating safe and inclusive settings where young people can grow in faith, community, and responsibility, developing forms for young people's participation in worship and congregational life.
In addition to this, the position includes customary pastoral duties such as worship services, church ceremonies, and pastoral care.
Your primary placement is in S:t Ansgars Congregation, but you will also serve in Västra Rekarne Congregation.
The position involves day, evening, and weekend work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is ordained in the Swedish Church
- has good digital skills
- expresses yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- has a B driver's license (access to your own car is a plus)
- has experience with and/or documented commitment in work with teenagers, young adults, or confirmation candidates is meritorious.
We are looking for someone who wants to be a companion for young people on their journey through life. You have a genuine interest in teenagers' everyday lives, questions, and futures, and feel comfortable in conversations about faith, identity, meaning, and existential questions.
You are well grounded in the Swedish Church's faith, tradition, and life, while having the courage to think in new ways and the willingness to develop the church's presence in today's society. You see possibilities rather than obstacles and have ideas about how the church can be relevant to new generations.
