Working hours are daytime on weekdays and weekends in our kitchen and at Mary's Café, located at Mälarbackens care and elderly housing. Our chefs prepare approximately 1200 portions daily, mostly traditional Swedish home cooking with a focus on sustainable meals. The food is delivered to care and elderly housing, home care services, and daily activities. At Mary's Café, we serve simple dishes and homemade coffee pastries. Your role You are responsible for all tasks of a kitchen assistant in our kitchen and Mary's Café. The work includes, among other things, receiving deliveries, preparing vegetables, packing meals in dining halls and meal boxes, loading warming trolleys, general kitchen cleaning, and dishwashing. You also support the chefs with preparation of the day's meals. At Mary's, you work with all tasks found in a café. The café primarily serves our residents and their relatives. Your competence and experience We are looking for someone who: Has a diploma from a restaurant and food service program or equivalent education, or alternatively extensive experience working in a large-scale kitchen. Has knowledge of food safety legislation. Has experience working in a café and/or large-scale kitchen. Is thorough, responsible, and works independently. Remains stable in stressful situations and focuses on what matters. Has good communication skills and collaborates well, as it is important that kitchen work functions smoothly, as well as interactions with our guests and staff who visit Mary's Café.
