Slakthusområdet Gymnasium opens in August 2026 in Stockholm's newest city district. We're starting with approximately 250 students in year 1 and are expected to be fully developed with 800 students by year three. The school is brand new with purpose-built facilities and offers three programs: Business Program, Social Sciences Program, and Sales and Service Program. Ahead of the school start in August, we're looking for a kitchen manager for the school's kitchen. We will be working in a new and modern kitchen with sustainable menus in accordance with Stockholm's city climate and environmental goals and guidelines. The school will run a lunch service, breakfast service, and a Café.

The food served in the school restaurant should always be good, appealing, modern, and nutritious. Together we work to reduce climate impact, food waste, increase the proportion of organic products, and develop school meals. School meals are important for students to have a good school day and school results. This means that in your role as kitchen manager, you must have extensive knowledge of special diets, food safety, and the school law's requirements for nutritionally adequate meals. An important task is to work with service and customer care and to ensure that the city's guidelines for school meals are followed. You will be part of a small team where you together are responsible for all food served and that it is of good quality.
The role of kitchen manager includes:
• Supervising and structuring kitchen work
• Within given budget frames, coordinating the work of developing and planning menus and ordering food from contracted suppliers through the Agresso procurement portal
• Ensuring that laws, regulations, and guidelines within the operational area are followed
• Ensuring that self-inspection and HACCP are implemented
• Implementing certain delegated occupational health and safety tasks
• Together with your immediate supervisor, ensuring that staff receive necessary competence development
• Responsibility for mechanical equipment and reporting faults
A large part of the work consists of administrative tasks, but you also participate in the daily work in the kitchen and café.
Qualifications:
We're looking for you who have upper secondary education in restaurant/food program and/or equivalent knowledge
You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language
3-4 years of experience in large-scale kitchens/restaurants
Knowledge of special diets, individually adapted nutrition, food safety, and the school law's requirements for nutritional adequacy
Computer skills and experience with Stockholm's city IT systems are merits
Experience in team leadership
