Cook/School Meal Assistant at Värgårdsskolan

Kinda Municipality is seeking primarily a cook, or alternatively a school meal assistant, for the kitchen at Värgårdsskolan in Kisa. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to students' health, well-being, and learning through nutritious, balanced meals in a safe school environment.
About the role
As a cook or school meal assistant, you will work with school meals for students in primary and intermediate grades. The role includes responsibility for preparing and serving lunch, as well as preparing salads, breakfast, and snacks. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other kitchen staff members.
Depending on your competence and experience, work tasks can be adapted, with greater responsibility for cooking and planning if you are a trained cook.
The position is a temporary contract at 90% from October 5, 2026 to January 17, 2027.
Responsibilities
Prepare and/or serve nutritious and balanced school meals
Prepare salad buffets, breakfast, and snacks
Ensure good hygiene, food safety, and order in the kitchen
Provide good and professional service to students and colleagues
Contribute to a well-functioning and positive kitchen team collaboration
Qualifications
Cook training or documented experience as a cook is meriting
Experience working in a school kitchen or large-scale kitchen is meriting
Good knowledge of food hygiene and self-inspection
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Service-oriented, flexible, and responsible
