SiS Youth Care Home Sundbo, located outside Fagersta, serves non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse problems. We have the mandate to provide care for youth with special care needs and receive boys who have been sentenced to secure youth care (LSU).
Job Description
We are now seeking a cook on a temporary contract at Sundbo Youth Care Home. The role of a cook involves planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious and quality meals for the institution's youth. Meals and nutrition are an important part of our mission, as we prepare approximately 100 portions per day, 5 days a week, divided into two meals. In addition, the kitchen staff also prepare weekend meals.
As a cook, you work in a team with other kitchen staff and are operationally involved in the work. You need to be comfortable cooking in a large-scale kitchen while viewing the kitchen and dining hall as a cohesive whole. Your tasks include, in addition to preparing daily meals, placing orders for goods, planning menus, and packing items that departmental staff collect for their units. Your duties also include self-inspection in accordance with applicable legislation and adherence to the state framework agreement for orders.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in food and cooking who has worked in the profession for several years. You must be a trained cook with current HACCP certification and have experience preparing and planning specialized diets. As a person, you should be self-directed and flexible, have good collaboration skills, and demonstrate financial awareness. It is also important that you are clear, organized, and service-oriented.
You must also have:
Strong knowledge of hygiene regulations and self-inspection
Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good computer skills
It is advantageous if you have worked with people in socially vulnerable situations and have experience with database-driven purchasing systems.

This is a full-time temporary position for 6 months and may be extended or lead to a permanent position. Start date by agreement.
