Welcome to us! Your Responsibilities As a cook with us, you will work with all common tasks in a food preparation kitchen. You prepare and serve breakfast, snacks, and lunch as well as special diets according to current guidelines. You are also responsible for ensuring that the correct products are packaged at the right time and delivered to the right recipient. The role also includes meeting our guests during service, ordering food and other goods from our contracted suppliers, and working with quality control, dishwashing, and cleaning. Both kitchens are small and you will have few colleagues, so everyone needs to be flexible and able to perform all work tasks. Work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday. Your Workplace Food & Restaurant is responsible for meals at Linköping's primary schools, secondary schools, preschools, and elder care facilities. In our 70 kitchens, approximately 250 employees prepare around 26,000 portions each day. Our goal is to offer delicious, nutritious, and affordable meals. We prepare food as much as possible from scratch, adapt ingredients according to the season, and work closely with our guests. We offer wellness benefits and work uniforms. Harvestadskolan is a lower and middle school in southern Linköping with approximately 300 students. Here we prepare around 500 portions of food each day. Approximately 300 portions are served in the school's restaurant and the remainder are delivered to preschools. The Harvestad area consists of six kitchens – two at preschools and four at schools. Vidinsjöskolan is an F–6 school in a quiet residential area with proximity to nature. Here we prepare around 500 lunches and 250 snacks each day. We are responsible for both service in the school's restaurant and deliveries to our six smaller kitchens in the Vidinsjö area. About You We are looking for someone with upper secondary education in restaurant and food, institutional cooking, or other education that we consider equivalent. You can also have acquired equivalent competence through work experience. For this position, work experience in food preparation is required. You have knowledge of special diets and it is advantageous if you have worked with it for an extended period. It is also an advantage if you have experience with school meals and ordering goods in digital systems. You have good knowledge of food hygiene and quality control. Since the work places high demands on safety and quality, you also need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. To thrive in the role, you are confident and stable and have a professional approach. You can maintain calm even when the pace is high and work needs to be completed within given timeframes. You enjoy collaborating with others, communicate in a thoughtful manner, and contribute to solving challenges and any conflicts in a constructive way.
