Area 1 consists of 11 preschools in Ulvsunda, Traneberg, Johannesfred, Minneberg, Mariehäll and Bällsta. Your immediate supervisor will be the area's administrative manager, but you will also collaborate with the deputy principal at the preschool. The district also has a meals strategist who works with all cooks in the district.
Ulvsunda slottsväg 22 consists of four departments with one department that has outdoor activities, which means that on certain days you prepare meals for them to take on outings. You also prepare meals for the nearby preschool Ulvsunda slottsväg 19, which consists of two departments.

Your role
We're looking for you who have a strong interest in and extensive knowledge of preparing good and nutritious food from scratch for children and staff at the preschool, currently approximately 100 children and 22 adults. You should enjoy taking responsibility, have team spirit and appreciate good collaboration.
As a cook, you are a key person in the operation and ensure that the food is of high quality and equitable for all children.
The six different puzzle pieces in the National Food Agency's meal model form the basis for how we work with food and meals. The city's goal is for preschools to reduce consumption of meat and meat products and actively work to expand the range of vegetarian dishes and organic food.
Your tasks include planning and preparing nutritious food according to the National Food Agency's recommendations and Bromma District Administration's meal strategy. You will prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks for children and adults.
You are expected to plan your menus together with other cooks in the area and enter them digitally on our platform for guardians. Dishwashing, picking up groceries, maintaining order in the kitchen and cleaning work surfaces and floors are part of the job. You are responsible for food hygiene and self-inspection and also responsible for placing food orders digitally according to the city's procurement procedures. You work seasonally regarding procurement and follow the area's budget guidelines.
You collaborate with other cooks in the area where we together carry out development work on food and meals.
As part of your duties, you actively participate in what happens at the preschool.
Your competence and experience
You have a degree from a restaurant and food program or other equivalent education and training that includes food handling and preparation, food hygiene, special diets and meal planning, such as HACCP.
As a cook with us, you need broad knowledge of various food allergies, which is important for being able to prepare the special diets needed. You have good knowledge of vegetarian, climate-smart and organic nutrition.
Experience is required. Experience working as a cook, preferably from kitchens where you have prepared and served food for children. Knowledge of preparing special diets. Experience in planning, ordering, budgeting and self-inspection.
Digital competence is required as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language spoken and written. You are expected to be able to present the food and your kitchen work via social media.
In your professional role, you are engaged, professional, innovative and communicative. You need the ability to communicate and welcome children's curiosity about what happens in the kitchen and communicate and build good relationships with guardians.
You are also responsible and structured with a good ability to plan and prioritize your work efficiently. You collaborate well with other staff and actively participate in development work at the preschool and with other cooks in the area.
