You will prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as well as special diets in accordance with applicable agreements. Your areas of responsibility also include ensuring the right product is packed at the right time and reaches the right customer. Part of the work involves meeting our guests during service times as well as digitally ordering food and other products from our contracted suppliers. You will work with self-inspection and aftercare such as cleaning and dishwashing. You will work closely with other colleagues and together work to produce well-prepared food. Your workplace Food & Restaurant is responsible for meal preparation at Linköping's preschools, elementary schools, and high schools as well as elderly care. In our 70 kitchens, 250 employees prepare approximately 26,000 portions of food per day, which are served in our own school restaurant or delivered to preschools and elderly care facilities. Our mission is to offer our customers an affordable meal that is well-prepared and nutritious. We are committed to ensuring that our operations are characterized by good quality and professionalism. We base ourselves on our goals and quality standards to prepare food by season and as much as possible from scratch and close to the guest to promote health and take environmental and climate considerations into account. We are now seeking a chef for Ekängsskolan, located in the Ekängen residential area. The school accepts students from grades 2 through 6. Six people currently work in the kitchen. Approximately 1,300 portions are prepared, of which approximately 350 are served at Ekängsskolan, the rest are sent to schools and preschools in the nearby area. Work as a chef is conducted during daytime, Monday through Friday. About you We are looking for someone with a high school education in restaurant and food, large-scale cooking education, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Alternatively, work experience deemed equivalent by the employer. Further, it is a requirement that you have work experience in cooking. We also require knowledge regarding special diets and it is advantageous if you have several years of work experience in this area. It is advantageous if you have experience working with school meals and digitally ordering goods. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, spoken and written, to ensure food quality, guest health, and your own safety. You also need to have knowledge of applicable rules and guidelines regarding food hygiene and self-inspection. As a person, you are confident, stable, and have self-awareness. You have the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional and behave in a way that is adapted to the situation. Since the work involves working towards deadlines, we are looking for someone who is calm, stable, and controlled in stressful and pressured situations. Furthermore, you have the ability to put energy and commitment into your work. As a chef, you work closely with other colleagues, which means you need to be able to work well with other people and have the ability to listen in and communicate constructively.
