About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the cycle of crime. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and inmate transportation. Hall Prison is located just outside Södertälje. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the prison also employs administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. In addition to regular units, the prison has specialized units for inmates with special needs and one of the country's three high-security units. Inmates are engaged in education, treatment programs, work operations, and other structured activities (ASV) that focus on creative activities, crafts, gardening, and health. It is a traditional large-scale kitchen that serves both the prison's staff cafeteria and provides meals for inmates. The work includes all typical tasks in a large kitchen such as planning, procurement, and preparation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The duties also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-inspection in accordance with applicable regulations. Preparation of special diets and other customized meals also occurs. Collaboration with staff in other departments is a natural part of the work. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has good self-awareness. You are calm and composed in stressful situations and work well with other people. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. We are looking for someone who has: • Catering or institutional food service education at upper secondary level, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant. • Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish. It is also advantageous to have: • Experience working in a large-scale kitchen. • Experience working with self-inspections. • Experience working with special diets.
