The Food and Facilities Management Unit is part of the Children and Education Department. The department has approximately 800 employees. The department's operations span the entire municipality and include preschools, primary schools grades F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, food services and facilities management, mother tongue instruction, and library services. The Food Unit employs approximately 80 staff members. The Food Unit manages meal preparation for preschools, schools, special care facilities, and meal boxes for home care services. The municipality operates 38 production and serving kitchens where approximately 3,500 portions are produced daily. Blomstergården in central Krokom is a special care facility with an on-site kitchen that produces approximately 40 portions per meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—plus about 60 meal portions for homebound residents receiving meal delivery. The kitchen team at Blomstergården consists of a chef with leadership function, an assistant chef with leadership function, and 2 kitchen assistants. A day as a chef with leadership function at Blomstergården You are responsible for daily operations, safe food handling, conducting self-inspections, and ensuring the kitchen and equipment are managed according to applicable guidelines. It is important that you contribute to and work toward a good working environment where your colleagues feel included. This role requires strong administrative skills. The operation is run with cost-consciousness in mind—you manage supply orders and process invoices. Your qualifications We are looking for someone who has completed a 3-year upper secondary education in hotel and restaurant management, or has equivalent experience in similar work. Flexibility in speaking and writing Swedish is required. Good computer skills are a merit. As a person, you are flexible, self-driven, meticulous, and positive. You collaborate easily and have a solution-focused approach. With a strong service orientation, great commitment, and excellent communication skills, you always put the dining guest at the center. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your ability to work with others. Additional information Temporarily placed as a chef with leadership function in the kitchen at Blomstergården in central Krokom, at 100% until 2027-08-31. After that, the position converts to a chef role within the Food Unit of the municipality. Start date by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for daytime, weekdays and weekends.
