The State Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also manages closed youth care. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog welcomes non-compulsory schooling girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse, and self-harm problems. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs. Job Description We are seeking an engaged and responsible cook at 50% for our operation. As a cook with us, you have an important role in the facility. Mealtime is more than just food – it creates structure, community, and well-being in everyday life. Qualifications As a cook, you are responsible for, among other things: planning and preparing meals according to the facility's needs ensuring that food maintains high quality and follows applicable guidelines working with self-inspection and food hygiene adapting meals based on allergies, special diets, and individual needs keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and well-organized collaborating with treatment staff and other colleagues contributing to a safe and positive dining environment. We are looking for someone who is a trained cook or has equivalent experience working in a kitchen/institutional kitchen. You are thorough, responsible, and service-oriented and work well with others. You can work independently, plan your work, and remain calm even when the pace is high. It is important that you have professional conduct and understanding according to ROT (respect, care, clarity) since work at SiS involves meetings with young people in different life situations. A B-category driver's license is required. We place great importance on personal suitability. It is advantageous if you have: experience from institutional kitchens or public operations are solution-oriented, unpretentious, and enjoy working in a team knowledge of special diets and allergens experience with self-inspection according to food legislation experience working with young people or in care and support services. Employment Type: 50% Working Hours: The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime – afternoon. Opportunity for extra hours evenings/weekends as needed.
