About the job
The work tasks include clinical work concerning emergency care and surgery, practical and theoretical teaching as well as examination of veterinary students within the subject of large animal surgery for horses. Clinical teaching usually takes place at the University Animal Hospital, UDS, but also on teaching horses and specimens. Administrative tasks such as course management and institutional work may also occur. As a starting point, we will create an individually tailored education plan.
Your base will be the teaching group within surgery. As part of the work group, you will help staff the emergency reception as well as the equine department's outpatient clinic and/or care unit at UDS, depending on your competence profile and focus area. On-call work may occur.
Your background
You have Swedish veterinary certification and an interest in emergency care within the field of equine surgery and, under supervision, want to further develop your clinical competence in this area. You are interested in educating veterinary students and participating in clinical research projects within the field.
You express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Experience in equine veterinary care as well as interest and experience in clinical supervision of students is an advantage.
Good collaboration skills, flexibility, high motivation and commitment are important, as is the ability to work both independently and in a group. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability and abilities.

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research and doctoral education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine and reproduction. Within all subjects, our activities span all animal species.
