The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your working life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformation. SiS youth home Klarälvsgården receives non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse problems. We have a mandate to receive boys with extended need for psychiatric interventions. Job Description As a treatment educator, you work in a team with other treatment educators, treatment assistants, treatment coordinators, and other professionals to create a safe, predictable, and developmental everyday life for the young people. The young people who come to us are often in a difficult life situation. Therefore, we work with qualified care and motivation work where you become an important adult role model. Through clear boundaries, good relationships, and respectful treatment, you help young people develop new strategies and take steps toward a life without crime and destructive behaviors. You actively work based on the young person's treatment plan and continuously document interventions and events as part of planning, follow-up, and legal safety. Key worker responsibilities are part of the role, and you play a central part in monitoring the young person's development during their placement. The work also involves creating a meaningful everyday life through schooling, leisure activities, and practical tasks. As a treatment educator, you actively participate in activities with the young people and build relationships in all everyday situations. Klarälvsgården is a security class 2 institution. This means that security is always a natural part of the work, while treatment and relationship-building are the focus. The work also includes conducting planned outings and activities in the community with the young people as part of treatment. This makes high demands on risk awareness, good judgment, and the ability to create safety both inside and outside the institution's premises. The work is varied and sometimes demanding. Conflict management and physical interventions may occur, and you will therefore receive the training required to work safely and professionally. As a state employee, you are expected to act objectively, legally safely, and with good judgment in all situations. As a new employee, you go through SiS basic training where theory alternates with supervised introduction to the activities. The training gives you the knowledge and tools you need in the treatment role. Working hours follow an irregular schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for young people in a vulnerable life situation and who thrives in work where no two days are the same. You are confident, have a humanistic worldview, and believe in people's ability to change. You are good at building positive relationships while being able to set clear boundaries and stand firm even when situations become challenging. You collaborate well with colleagues and other professionals, communicate clearly, and remain calm even under pressure. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a treatment educator, you must have: Complete upper secondary education A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational university (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or a degree from university that we assess as equivalent Experience working with young people Good Swedish, both spoken and written Based on the new Social Services Ordinance (5 ch. 4§ Social Services Ordinance (2025:468)), we only employ persons who do not meet the requirements for at least two years of post-secondary education in special cases. In such cases, these persons are employed as treatment assistants. Meriting qualifications: B driving license Experience working with young people in vulnerable situations Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) Employment: We are now recruiting five treatment educators for permanent full-time positions. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Tests and work samples may be part of the recruitment process. SiS actively works against all forms of discrimination and welcomes all applicants. For work at our institutions, SiS conducts a background check before employment. We therefore strongly decline contact from media sales representatives, recruitment sites, and similar. NOTE!
