The State Employment Agency (hereinafter - the Agency) announces a competition for a vacant position - Career Consultant at the Cēsu branch Cēsu Client Service Center (1 position, 1 full-time equivalent for a fixed term of up to 1.5 years) Position Objective: Advise clients on career choices, provide informative and methodological support in the job search process and professional development, provide support to employers in selecting suitable employees. Organize participation of unemployed persons and job seekers in active employment measures and preventive unemployment reduction measures. Requirements for Candidates: Bachelor's or second-level professional higher education: obtained or obtaining (second-year student) a professional master's degree in education science with a qualification - career consultant, or a professional master's degree in human resources management or psychology; one year of experience in career counseling or two years of experience in client counseling (in social and/or employment issues), if a bachelor's degree in pedagogy or social work is obtained; one year of experience in career counseling is desirable if a bachelor's degree in psychology is obtained or a professional master's degree in education science with a career consultant qualification or human resources management, or is currently a second-year student of the mentioned master's programs; work experience in career counseling of not less than five years if a bachelor's or second-level professional higher education is obtained, except for those who obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology, pedagogy, social work or obtained, or is obtaining (second-year student) a professional master's degree in education science with a career consultant qualification or a professional master's degree in human resources management; work experience in employment and/or personnel selection is desirable; knowledge of regulatory acts in force in the Republic of Latvia within the scope of the position's competence; counseling skills; knowledge of personnel selection processes; communication, presentation, planning, control and analytical skills; ability to evaluate facts, predict and prevent risks; English language skills for communication with clients of other nationalities are desirable; computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work with office equipment; a valid e-signature tool is required for the performance of the position's duties. Main Position Duties: Provide individual and group career consultations according to client wishes and consultation objectives in accordance with thematic classification; identify and counsel client target groups (long-term unemployed, persons returning from parental leave, young people, persons with special needs, clients aged 50+, persons released from imprisonment, persons in detention facilities, etc.); taking into account client needs (including using profiling methods for the unemployed) and proposals, determine measures to be included in the Individual Job Search Plan or Job Seeker Card that would facilitate the client's return to the labor market; plan client participation and ensure the fulfillment of the Agency-approved career consultation performance indicators; organize and conduct appropriate candidate selection for filling vacancies upon request from employers. The selection competition will take place in three rounds: First Round - evaluation of candidates' education and work experience based on submitted documents. Second Round – practical tasks, based on the results of which the candidate's professional knowledge will be assessed. Third Round - interview, during which the candidate's knowledge and competencies will be evaluated in accordance with the requirements specified for the position. Candidates who achieved the highest score in practical tasks will be invited to the interview. The Agency asks candidates, when applying for participation in the selection competition, not to submit additional data, including special category personal data, that are not necessary to assess the candidate's suitability for the specific vacancy. If a candidate submits personal data that is not necessary within the framework of the selection process, it is considered that the candidate has consented to the processing of such personal data.
