We are now seeking an Estimating Engineer for our Operations division with placement at one of our offices in Mälardalen. Your Assignment as Estimating Engineer As an Estimating Engineer, you are responsible for coordinating and driving the estimating work in our bids and projects. You work throughout the bidding process, from analyzing project prerequisites and calculating costs to identifying risks, opportunities, and tactical choices that strengthen our competitiveness. You become part of the division staff and work closely with construction managers, site managers, and other specialist functions in the organization. You prepare and lead estimate kickoff meetings, estimate meetings, and bid reviews, develop cost calculations, and compile bids. Together with procurement, you conduct request for quotations and help ensure that our bids maintain high quality and business precision. When a project is won, you are responsible for creating a smooth handover to the project organization and serve as support in planning, budgeting, and production estimates. You also monitor ongoing projects to capture lessons learned and create knowledge feedback that contributes to continuous improvements in future estimates and bids. In this role, you are also an important specialist resource for the construction manager area's management group and contribute knowledge, analysis, and advice within the estimating field. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a business-minded and analytical approach who enjoys working close to operations. You enjoy diving into complex documents, analyzing different courses of action, and translating your conclusions into well-founded decisions. At the same time, you have an easy way of collaborating and building trusting relationships with various stakeholders. We would like to see that you have: Post-secondary education in construction, civil engineering, technology, economics, or equivalent experience. Experience with estimating, bidding, or project work within the construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure sector. Good understanding of contract work and economic relationships. Good experience working in digital systems and estimation tools. Very strong Excel skills. Class B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have: Experience from operations and maintenance activities. Knowledge of AMA, AF-sections, or contract law. Experience with procurement, purchasing, or contract management. Experience with production estimates and financial monitoring of projects. As a person, you are well-organized, thorough, and take responsibility. You have strong self-drive, good problem-solving skills, and an interest in developing both work methods and business.
