About the Role
Here you have the opportunity to step into a key position where you combine operational work with strategic leadership. You are employed by VA Nordic and work with the group's subsidiaries, where you are responsible for developing and strengthening estimating work across operations. As Estimating Manager, you are responsible not only for the bidding phase, but you hold the entire process together—from calculating the job to following up on profitability and learning from the results.
You lead a team consisting of both estimators and construction engineers. You are a "working manager," meaning you are involved in daily calculations while bearing responsibility for expanding your perspective, developing our methods, and ensuring the team functions optimally.
You don't need to be able to dig the hole yourself—the technical expertise exists with our site managers whom you work closely with. Your strength should be understanding the estimate, the logic behind the business, and how we maximize profitability.
Examples of Responsibilities
Strategic analysis: Monitor bid statistics, analyze competitor pricing, and evaluate our hit-rate to optimize our strategy.
Operational estimating work: Independently drive and calculate bid projects and be a "playing coach."
Process development: Drive improvements in how we calculate, follow up on projects, and conduct post-project reviews.
Support production: Be a sounding board for site managers regarding financial and contract matters during project execution.
Market: Market monitoring and strategic positioning of our bids.
We are Looking for You
Have experience as an estimating manager or currently work as a senior estimator, construction engineer, or project manager and are ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
People or team management experience is a merit.
You have analytical depth—you understand the importance of key figures, statistics, and monitoring.
You are structured and business-minded—you see the bigger picture in business and are driven by profitability.
You have experience with estimating systems such as MAP or Bidcon.
You have a background in civil engineering, construction, water and wastewater, or building.
You have good knowledge of construction law, such as AMA, MER, LUF, and LOU.
You have good computer skills and master Excel.
You speak and write Swedish fluently and hold a valid driver's license (category B).
