WE ARE INVITING YOU TO JOIN OUR TEAM SUPPORT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT JURIST (1 POSITION) (state civil service position for a fixed term until December 31, 2032) If you are interested in developing and implementing regulatory acts, wish to provide legal support for the implementation and monitoring of the European Union Social Climate Fund, and want to contribute through your work to a socially just transition to climate neutrality while reducing energy and transport poverty in Latvia, we invite you to join the Ministry of Climate and Energy team! WE WILL ENTRUST YOU WITH ensuring high-quality and timely legal support to the Ministry of Climate and Energy as the leading authority of Latvia's Social Climate Fund Plan 2026–2032, including ensuring that the regulatory framework, methodological documents, internal procedures, and management and control systems necessary for the plan's implementation and monitoring comply with the requirements of European Union and Republic of Latvia regulatory acts. WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: - Academic or second-level professional higher education in law; - Legal work experience of at least two years; - Understanding of the structure and principles of public administration; preferably at least two years of work experience in a public administration institution and representation in legal proceedings; - Knowledge and experience in administrative procedures, preparation of internal regulatory acts, decisions and contracts, inter-institutional agreements, and other legal act drafts; - Preferred experience and understanding of European Union funds or other foreign financial instruments program administration issues and corresponding regulatory framework; - Preferred experience in developing policy planning documents and legal act drafts; - Good command of English (job duties include work with documents and communication in English); - Ability to work simultaneously with a large and diverse volume of information, setting priorities and maintaining work quality; - Competencies – ability to work both in a team and independently, good communication skills, results-oriented approach, analytical thinking, and ethical conduct; - Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law.
